While Naomi Campbell is notorious for her diva antics and catty remarks towards Tyra Banks, sources tell Globe magazine Tyra never got down and dirty with Campbell. "Naomi criticized Tyra constantly," a source in the modeling industry revealed. "She was always going on about how Tyra had modeled herself on her. Tyra heard those stories and was naturally upset. But to Tyra's credit, she never lashed out publicly at Naomi."

Tyra banks will be on the NBC show "American Dreams" on Sunday, March 21st. She will be portraying a "Velvelette," and she will be singing the song "He Was Really Sayin' Something." Although she lip syncs the song while performing, she really recorded the song... and did a great job!
American Dreams airs on Sunday nights at 8 pm on NBC.

Tyra Banks has obviously forgotten she's a supermodel. For one thing, she agrees to have lunch at a Hollywood joint called Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles, where she arrives wearing blue jeans, a red sweat shirt and just a hint of blush. No wonder the waitress, after taking Banks's gut-busting order of fried wings and cheese grits, says to her, "Girl, has anyone told you that you look like Tyra Banks?" After a few minutes, the waitress returns. This time, she realizes who she's talking to, and she's got some advice. "Your forehead ain't as big as they make it look in those Victoria Secret magazines," she says. "They don't do you justice, and you ought to tell them that." At this point, any self-respecting diva would slap the woman. Banks just plays along. "What should I do, girl? Should I tell them they need to make me look better?"
The fact is, Banks has never looked so good. At an age-30!-when most models give up and marry a rock star, Banks is turning herself into a multimedia empire. Her show, "America's Next Top Model," has single-handedly resuscitated UPN-faint praise, perhaps, but the program is running neck and neck with the competition on NBC and ABC. As if TV and modeling weren't enough, Banks just launched a singing career. The video for her single, "Shake Ya Body," got 155,000 hits on the UPN Web site since it debuted on "Top Model," though it's possible that many fans didn't bother listening to the music. "I want to be successful across the board," Banks says. "I want an empire like Oprah's. I may do it with a little more cleavage, but I plan to get there."

Supermodel Tyra Banks, who recently made her solo singing debut on her hit reality series America's Next Top Model, has a CD in the works. Banks told Jet magazine "I would love an album in fall or sometime early next year. It's something I've been working on for a while. I have five songs that I really love."
According to Rodney Jerkins, who produced "Shake Ya Body," the song Banks sang on America's Next Top Model, says she has what it takes to make it in the music business. He told Jet, "She had a hungriness to be in the studio all the time. Some people want to be divas in the studio and work for three hours. You had to tell Tyra to stop or she will keep you going."
Banks previously provided vocals for L.A. Laker Kobe Bryant's first foray into recording. The supermodel guested on the baller's 2000 hip-hop single "K-O-B-E."

Supermodel Tyra Banks probably doesn't need a new gig, especially one as risky and unforgiving as pop star, but she's never been one for resting on her lovely laurels.
Last week she debuted the video for her first single at the end of her UPN reality TV show, "America's Next Top Model." "Shake Ya Body" a dance track produced by Grammy winner Rodney Jerkins features a hard-breathing, booty-shaking Tyra, the show's six remaining contestants and a bevy of boys gyrating in stylized club scenes.
Though fans might be surprised by Banks' new venture, she said it's been in the works for a while.
"Singing has been a passion of mine for a long time," Banks said. "For six years, I'd be ducking in and out of the studio on the down low, cuttin' tracks, doing it all. But I feel like if you're not ready to show the world what you're doing, don't say nothin', so I haven't said anything. But now I'm ready."
Banks has neither announced a record deal nor plans to complete an album. Her single is available for download at upn.com.

Tyra Banks' 'America's Next Top Model' has been a sexy smash hit for UPN, but is it fact or fiction that that the show threw a sex party? Fact says 'Extra', sort of: they learned that next week's show is being promoted as 'The Orgy' episode. On it, Tyra's models get a bit too friendly with some guys in Milan, and it gets too hot for TV. UPN actually ordered cuts to make the show tamer.

Us Weekly asked Tyra Banks if she plans on getting Botox treatment. "My mother is 65 years old, she doesn't do Botox and she's got less wrinkles than me. So hopefully I will follow in her footsteps. Botox is not something I will do anytime soon or ever, hopefully."
